Austin was stunned. He turned to Rachel, and cold sweat trickled down his forehead. For the first time, he was
truly afraid. There was more than one problem here!
He took a deep breath and said, "Would you mind elaborating?"
Rachel slightly lowered her head. "I lived under the sroof with him for three years, but when he found out |
had to marry Stephen, he left me.
"On the day of the wedding, | went to him in my wedding dress, but he refused to takeaway. | want him back
in my life."
She told Austin about her history with Ethan, but most were false. She was the one who betrayed Ethan, but she
said Ethan left her.
Austin found himself in a difficult spot again. He knew Rachel was married to the man inside the room, on the
bed, and be it the man's status or background, almost no other men in Riveria could beat him.
As for Ethan, he only knew the man from what he had read online. Ethan was a criminal whose actions had

would fall for him and why she was still thinking about him.
"Stephen is better than Ethan. Ethan is a criminal, and you won't end well with him. Staying with Stephen is the
best choice for you," Austin said.
Rachel shook her head. "Ethan would never hit me, but Stephen has hita few times already."
Austin saw the slap mark on her face.
"Maybe he's just tired. Ethan is a criminal, and if he resorts to violence, it will be much worse than this," he said.
"Loving a person that you should not is as dangerous as suicide. Why not try snew hobbies or work in
charity? Something to keep your mind off Ethan and help you move on.."
Rachel looked at Austin and knew the man was not the help she needed. Hence, she sighed and went back into
the ward with her head lowered.
Austin did not know if his words managed to change Rachel's mind, but he believed Ethan should be executed
for what he did. Not only did Ethan mess up Riveria, but he messed up Stephen's wife as well.
A while later, Nolan cback with George. On the way back, Nolan had filled him in on the situation. Upon
learning that Stephen suffered a mental breakdown because he wrongfully executed Jeremy, George felt bad for
him.
Stephen was still young but had lived through a lot of tragedy. If he was in Stephen's shoes, he might not be able
to handle all the pressure and trauma himself.
He entered the ward with Nolan.
"Dad!" Rachel cried out in surprise.
The father and daughter reunited after being apart for so long.
After a tight hug, George released her and noticed the slap mark on her face. He frowned.
"What is this?"
Rachel wanted to tell him the truth but quickly remembered why he was there. If she spilled the truth, George
might be mad at Stephen and refuse to help. The only hope for the Lowes to return to their prwas Stephen.
She shook her head and said, "It's nothing. Stephen treatswell. | just had a little accident. It's fine. I'll be

George breathed a sigh of relief. Then, he looked at Stephen on the bed, looking like a lifeless corpse.
"Stephen." George went over to the side of the bed and said, "How long are you going to keep this up?"
George's voice managed to elicit sreaction in Stephen's eyes.
He turned to George and said, "You're out?"
"Yeah. | heard what happened, so | cto see you."
