Chapter 777: I Will Avenge Her Myself The moment he spoke, silence filled the car for a full thirty seconds.
Tina looked up, her eyes meeting Hayden's with a hint of exasperation. Her younger brother always had a knack for being too clever at the most inappropriate times. Sthings, even if you figured them out, were better left unsaid. Hayden realized he had misspoken and, feeling the weight of Cole's accusing glare, awkwardly laughed to shift the topic. "So... what should we do now? Head straight to the YQ lab?" Tina nodded. "First, we'll drop Aunt off there. Her body can't hold out much longer relying solely on my pills. The lab's equipment is the most advanced in the world. Leaving her there means Wraith can help monitor her condition. I'll do a thorough examination to stabilize her life first. After that, we'll focus all our efforts on taking down the Bailey family." Neither Hayden nor Cole objected.
Jared, regaining his composure, gripped Tina's hand tightly. "Leave Victor to me. I'll avenge Aunt myself!" At YQ Laboratory.
Soft blue lights flickered above their heads. The thunderous sound of rain and lightning was muffled by the lab's soundproof walls. Behind the frosted glass doors, two faint silhouettes moved inside. Jared, Hayden, and the others stood outside, waiting.
"What's going on in there?" Peter Crispin whispered as he nudged Hayden with his elbow.
Before his hand lingered, Hayden swatted it away impatiently and pressed a finger to his lips. "Quiet. Cwith me, I'll explain." He glanced cautiously at Jared's stoic expression before motioning for Peter to follow him. The two tiptoed out of the lab.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtCole noticed their sneaky movements but pretended not to see. Instead, he pulled out a beer bottle from who- knows-where and took a swig. "Relax. With Serena here, nothing will go wrong." Jared's cold, unblinking gaze shifted slightly. "I know." Cole muttered under his breath, "... Then why are you sitting here like a statue?" Inside the operating room, Tina and Wraith worked with solemn intensity.
"Clamp," Tina ordered.
Wraith wiped the sweat from her forehead as she reached out for the silver clamp, her blood-stained gloves steady despite the tension.
Wraith couldn't help but glance again at the woman lying on the operating table. When she'd first been brought in, he had thought they'd dug up a corpse from somewhere.
When he learned she was Jared's aunt, he'd barely believed it.
Now, seeing her cleaned up, her face still bore the marks of prolonged malnourishment and unconsciousness. Her cheeks were sunken, her features gaunt. Yet, through her eyebrows and eyes, there was a faint resemblance to Jared. "Who would've thought," Wraith muttered, "that a daughter of the prestigious Farrell family could end up in such a state." Clicking his tongue, he added, "Can you really save her?" By his experience, someone in Simone Farrell's condition should've been long dead. It was already a miracle she had managed to survive this long. If Tina hadn't brought her back, leaving her in that remote village, she wouldn't have lasted a few more months.
To be honest, even for him, saving someone like Simone seemed almost impossible.
Tina didn't even blink. "It'll take seffort, that's all." Wraith glanced at her in surprise. "Sometimes I wonder, just how far has your medical skill reached? Is there anyone in the world you can't save?" The only sounds in the room were the rhythmic ticking of surgical instruments and the occasional scrape of the scalpel against flesh.
Tina didn't reply, her focus solely on stitching up Simone Farrell's wounds.
When she finally tied off the last stitch, she exhaled deeply, setting the tools back on the tray and removing her gloves and mask. "I'm no god." She cleaned up Simone's body and addressed Wraith without looking back. "Room 3 has the most advanced medical equipment. I'll set her up there." After finishing, she opened a sterile passageway. "Tomorrow morning, someone will cto take care of her. Your job is to monitor all her vitals. If anything unusual happens, callimmediately. If you can't reach me, call Jared." "Got it." Wraith pushed the bed into the sterile corridor. Though he preferred working on experiments, he figured watching over a patient wouldn't be too difficult. Besides, he was curious to see how Spectre would pull off a miracle and bring someone back from death's door.
The operating room doors slid open with a soft chime.
Hayden and Peter Crispin, who had just returned from outside, along with Cole and Jared, who had been waiting, rushed forward.
Tina stepped out, her expression calm but warm. "The surgery was a success. Aunt's condition has stabilized. Now, it's all about recovery." "She's been neglected for so many years. All her internal organs have suffered damage," Tina explained. She held Jared's hand, her grip firm and reassuring. "It will take tto nurse her back to health before we can proceed with further treatment. For now, our focus is revenge!" Jared's cold hand gradually warmed under Tina's touch. He looked at her, his gaze softening with a tenderness that even Hayden and the other bachelors couldn't decipher.
Cole broke the moment. "Serena, should we head back to the villa now?" Hayden chimed in, "Courtney's calledlike five times already. Serena, if we don't go back soon, I think Mrs. Dyer might lose her mind." Tina nodded. "Let's go." As the first light of dawn streamed into the villa, the heavy front doors finally creaked open.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏmElsa, who had been waiting restlessly, shot up and rushed toward the door before anyone else.
"Tina!" "Tina!" "Young Master!" "Serena!" The voices of relief cfrom all directions. Four figures stood up simultaneously, hurrying toward Tina and the others.
Elsa reached Tina first, clutching her hands with a tearful expression.
Before Elsa could speak, Tina said, "Elsa, I know about your parents. Don't worry, I have a plan."
"Tina, you're finally back." Courtney let out a long sigh ofn't sure relief. If they'd wasnt taken any longer, she longer, she wasn't sure how much longer she could console Elsa. Jayden, ever observant, scanned their faces and frowned. "Did something happen? You all look like you haven't slept in days." Hayden groaned, rubbing his temples. "Don't even bring it up. All I can say is, one way or another, Victor has to die!" "Wait, what?" Courtney's face was a mix of confusion and disbelief.
Even Jayden looked puzzled. Victor's actions had indeed been abhorrent, but Hayden's tone made it sound like he had a personal vendetta.
All eyes turned toward Tina.
Under their collective gaze, Tina avoided airing Jared's family matters in public.
Dexter, who knew the truth, had been sworn to secrecy by Hayden. He m opened his mouth to speak but shut it again when Tina shot him a warning look. He chose to remain silent. "We'll explain later," Tina said firmly, steering the conversation away. "Right now, let's focus on reclaiming Elsa's parents' ashes."
Her tone grew cold as she pulled a prescription list from her pocket. "If the Bailey family wants the formula, we'll give it to them. I want to see exactly what the Langdon family plans to do with it!" "What?!"
